Build a website.

Tina started making candles in 2017 whilst working her full-time job in corporate America. She was unhappy with her career and was ready for a change. Making candles started as a hobby that she found one day whilst googling. She says her first candle didn't burn or have a scent, but she kept developing the skill. In the same year, Tina quit her career and went all in on her candle business. The journey to "Whiffs on Wheels" starts here.

Work on perfecting your craft.

Tina went through many iterations with her candles, learning about the different aspects of them. She worked to create a vegan candle, and that process included a lot of trial and error.
Iterate on your product.

Once Tina was at a place where she was happy with the quality of her candles, she began working on her website so she could start selling her product online. In addition to her website, she began selling her candles in school fundraiser catalogs. The idea was, students would sell the items to raise funds for their schools, but the fundraising wasn't successful and Tina wound up going back to corporate America to help with funding her candle-making.

When Tina first started the business, "Whiffs on Wheels" started as "D. Kay by Tina Renee." D. Kay is Tina's mother, and the business was named after her to pay homage. Tina's main focus in the beginning of her journey was perfecting her craft as she focused on creating the perfect candle. She knew she had to make the perfect candle before anyone would want to buy it.

When the 2020 Pandemic hit, and the office she worked in told her that everyone would need to work from home, she decided she would not be returning and again went all in on Whiffs on Wheels. The 2020 pandemic actually boosted her business, with the demand for home comfort items substantially rising.

The future of Whiffs on Wheels is more of Tina's candles on shelves in notable stores, number one on her being Starbucks! Tina is thankful for everyone who supports Whiffs on Wheels, and we can't wait to see it continue to grow.
